D.H. Loewen established Loewen Insurance Brokers Ltd. in 1966. D.H.'s sons Donald and Irvin joined the company in 1978 and 1979, respectively. In 1980 D.H. Loewen retired, and in 1991 Donald passed away, leaving Irvin as the sole owner.
