BSI Insurance is a leader in providing quality insurance products and programs that benefit the hog producers in Manitoba. One of these programs is the Pig Safe Loss Control Program that is designed to assist hog producers in their endeavor to implement loss control.

The Pig Safe Loss Control Program in Manitoba is exclusive to eligible BSI clients and is provided to them at no cost. The program is available to hog operations each with a total insured value exceeding $1,000,000 per location.

Upon enrollment in the Pig Safe Loss Control Program, a PSLCP representative will meet with the owners and barn managers of each hog operation to instruct them on the requirements and proper implementation of the program. The program administrator is available to answer any questions or concerns that may need to be addressed during the enrollment term.

Each area of the Pig Safe program is monitored by the barn manager or responsible person(s) and the results are then summarized and forwarded to the Pig Safe office by the 15th of the next month. The Monthly Summary reports include comments on the following five major sections of the program:

Enabled/Offset - Hi/Lo Bands

Controls Alert alarm

Auto Dialer Operates

Rodent Control

External Activity

Internal Activity

Fire Extinguishers
